The bedroom is separate from the living area. Next to the king-size bed you have a closet fitted with hangers, and curtains darken the room when you want to sleep late.
In the living room there is a flat-screen TV, a sofa and a dining table big enough for everyone at mealtimes. At night the sofa opens into a bed for one more person. There is no balcony. Daylight comes in through the living room windows, which also look onto the lagoon.
The kitchen is set up for real cooking, with a hob under an extractor hood, a dishwasher, a fridge, an oven and a microwave. For breakfast there is a kettle, a toaster and an espresso machine, and a blender sits alongside them. Crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils are provided, along with wine glasses and champagne glasses.
Beach towels, bath towels and bed linen are all supplied. You will also find a hair dryer, bathroom essentials, an iron and an ironing board.
Families travelling with a baby can ask for a cot and a high chair. Entry is through an electronic lock, and the condo is fitted with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
The swimming pool sits on the roof of The Hills Residence and looks out across the lagoon. Sun loungers are set around it, and it opens daily between 8 am and 8 pm. The residence also has a shared a lobby.
Getting in and out is simple, since the building has an elevator and private parking. Cameras cover the outside of the buildings.
The concierge team can arrange a rental car, reserve a table at a restaurant or set up excursions and boat trips. It helps to get in touch with them before you arrive.
From the residence you are close to restaurants, bars, supermarkets and marinas. Simpson Bay beach and Maho beach are a short drive away, and so is Princess Juliana International Airport.
The Hills Residence stands on a hill, which is where its views come from, so we suggest renting a car. A car also makes it easy to drive across the island, to Philipsburg, to Marigot and on to the beaches of the French side.
Check-in starts at 4 pm, and check-out is by 11 am. The condo takes a maximum of three guests, which suits a couple, a group of friends or a small family.
